It's official: I have traveled to many places in the US and abroad, but I have yet to discover a more beautiful place than the Yosemite Valley. Photographing a wedding in this incredible place was a dream come true, and I am so thankful to Ryan and Krista and their families for inviting me to document their celebration! These two are best friends who love traveling and adventure, so it was natural for them to plan a destination wedding. Neither of them had ever been to the Yosemite Valley, but they had seen enough photographs to know that it was the perfect place for them to exchange vows.
I wanted to make sure that we were able to take full advantage of the beautiful views that the valley afforded us, so I met with my friend and local landscape photographer Shawn Reeder at sunrise for guided tour of the park. He introduced me to a few locations that were a little bit off of the beaten path, and I am so thankful to him for his help! Ryan and Krista built plenty of time into their schedule for photographs of the two of them, and we were able to create some beautiful portraits at Tunnel View and Yosemite Falls before a heavy thunderstorm rolled in. It rained through most of the afternoon, but it cleared up after the ceremony just in time for us to create a few more portraits in front of Half Dome. Even with the gloomy weather, I cannot imagine a more perfect place to get married. Congratulations Ryan and Krista!
