Zach and Brittany's Wieuca Road Baptist Church wedding was far more beautiful than I could have imagined, and it wasn't the decor that made me feel that way. To be sure, I loved the lanterns that her bridesmaids carried and the peacock feathers that were woven into her bouquet, but I found the true beauty of this day in the moments that I witnessed. I saw it on the faces of Brittany's friends as they watched her transform into a bride. I saw it in her joyful smile and the gentle way that she treated her grandmother's vintage Austrian veil. I found beauty in the tender way that the women in her life placed their hands on her to pray. And perhaps most powerfully of all, I found beauty in the way that Zach and Brittany prayed together. After these two were pronounced husband and wife, the pastor lead them in a prayer. They immediately leaned into each other, wrapped their arms around each other, and held tightly to each other while the pastor lifted praises and prayers to the Lord. It was this simple act - this acknowledgement of their dependence on God and the solace that they found in each other - that I found most beautiful.
