Second Mile Ranch Engagement

She wasn't looking for a husband. She wasn't even looking for love. When Christa decided to spend her summer traveling with a worship band, she was just looking for an opportunity to serve. But when she met Cameron and recognized what a strong, steady spiritual leader he was and how much he loved Jesus, she realized that she had found all three. They were traveling and serving together, so they had to wait a while before they could start dating, but it didn't take either of them long to decide that they wanted to spend their lives together. When I asked what they are most looking forward to about beginning their marriage, they looked directly at each other and smiled. They responded almost in unison. "Not having to say good-bye."

Cam and Christa chose to have their McDonough engagement photos made at Second Mile Ranch, which is her family's horse ranch. The property and the late afternoon light were both beautiful, but the way these two looked at each other was my favorite part of their session. They are absolutely made for each other, and I cannot wait to celebrate their wedding with them next May!

McDonough Square Engagement : Evan & Audrey

I was so excited when Audrey told me that she and Evan wanted to have an early morning engagement session at Nash Farm. It's one of my favorite local places to shoot because the light and scenery are beautiful and there's rarely anyone else on the property when I go. However, this was not the case when I arrived on Sunday morning. I pulled down the tree lined drive and was immediately immersed in another world. There were hundreds of people dressed in 19th century clothing wandering between groups of canvas tents. Apparently, Nash Farm is open and available to use every day with two major exceptions - 4th of July weekend and the weekend of the Civil War battle re-enactment. I put my car in park, stared blankly at the scene before me, and began laughing like a crazy person. It was just so unexpected and so funny! Once I composed myself, I called Evan and Audrey to let them know that we needed to change locations. Luckily, these two are kind and flexible, and we were able to laugh about it while I photographed them in the McDonough Square.

I knew from her first email that Audrey and Evan were going to be an ideal LWW couple. She had me hooked when she told me that they were planning an intimate wedding in Savannah. I love when I connect with couples who value people more than production and simply want to celebrate marriage with those who matter to them. Don't get me wrong - I'm not saying that a couple has to have a small wedding to have this attitude. It doesn't matter to me if your guest list has 4, 40, or 400 people on it. If you and your fiance think that relationships matter more than anything else on your wedding day, then I want to be there to document it! But small weddings have an atmosphere and a feeling that are unique to that intimate setting, and I so enjoy being part of them.

Audrey and Evan, thank you so much for embracing the humor of our situation and being willing to trust that your photos would be beautiful no matter where we took them! I cannot wait to celebrate your wedding with you in Savannah!

Engaged! Kelly & Laura : Eagles Landing Country Club

It was a whim, really. Kelly was freshly transplanted from Texas and attending a welcome party for his pilot class at Delta. It didn't take him long to realize that the party was going to be a room full of men shaking hands and making small talk, so he and his friend went searching for something a little more fun. That's when they stumbled upon Hand in Hand in the Virginia Highlands. Kelly had no way of knowing that by walking into that bar, he was on his way to meeting the girl he would spend the rest of his life with. Laura was hanging out with a group of her girlfriends, and she happened to run into Kelly at the sweet tea table. Their romance started with a simple question- "Why on earth are they serving sweet tea at a bar?" And the rest, as they say, is history! I am so honored that Kelly and Laura have invited me to be part of their wedding. Laura is one of my sorority sisters, and she is such a classy, beautiful young woman. She has met her match with Kelly, who is friendly and charming, and seems that he could carry on a conversation with anyone. They're the type of couple that can make you feel like you're old friends in minutes, and I'm so excited to celebrate their marriage in November! They chose Eagles Landing Country Club as the location for their engagement pictures because Kelly is a member there and they love to golf together. I think these turned out so cute!

Engaged! Donald & Dominique : McDonough Square

I am so excited to share Donald and Dominique's McDonough engagement session! Their Summerour engagement session was shorter than we had originally planned because they got stuck in traffic, so we decided to split their session into two parts. For the second half of their session, they met me down in my hometown of McDonough to take some photos around the square.

The light was unreal! So beautiful.

Check out Donald trying to be all suave in the background. I love this shot.

These two are unbelievably photogenic! They made my job a dream.

They pull off model poses quite well.

Since we were in the neighborhood, we decided to stop by the Hazlehurst House for some photos around their beautiful grounds. I love these!

Engaged! Kevin & Meagan : McDonough, GA

"I love love," Meagan said as she leaned in to kiss Kevin again. Oh my gosh, how cute are they! I thought to myself. From the moment I received my first email from Meagan, I was convinced that we were going to get along and possibly be good friends. When I asked her to tell me about her and Kevin, she told their love story with passion and enthusiasm. Perhaps their story touches my heart because it's so close to my own. They were close friends who met in church, and one day they decided to take a leap of faith and start dating, and now their years of friendship will make way for a lifetime of love. I'm so excited for them, and I can't wait to photograph their wedding in a few short weeks!
