The last year has been such an incredible journey for me as a photographer and as a business owner. In the Spring of 2014, God called me to do business differently. To stop focusing so much on money and begin focusing on relationships. To stop measuring my value by what someone was willing to pay me, and begin measuring it by what I gave to others. So I did. When I took the first steps toward changing my business model, I was so afraid. In my head, I knew that God was good, that His plan was perfect, and that whatever He asked me to do would be for His glory. But the fear and doubt that I wrestled with at the time showed me that those truths had not really taken root in my heart.
Friends, I am here to tell you that God's plans are far greater than we could ever imagine! In the last year I've photographed weddings in backyards, ballrooms, cathedrals, and community centers. I've photographed grooms in khaki shorts and grooms in custom tuxes. I've photographed brides in handmade gowns and brides in sun dresses. I've photographed bouquets overflowing with peonies and bouquets bursting with baby's breath. And you know what? The one thing that every single wedding has had in common is the overflowing joy that my couples share and their belief that weddings are important because marriage, families, and love are important. And I cannot imagine running my business any other way!
When I met Jamie and Kelsey at their Nash Farm engagement session, I knew that they would be a joy to celebrate with. These two have an amazing, quirky sense of humor, and they love to laugh together. They respect each other, they are tender towards each other, and they are passionate about selflessly serving each other. I cannot wait to see how God leads and guides them into a deeper relationship with Him as they begin their journey as a family.
