Amber closed her eyes and waited quietly for her groom. She clasped and unclasped her hand around the handle of the church door, breathing deeply and trying to keep herself from crying. She heard Joseph laugh, and she joyfully called out to him. "Joey! Joey, is that you?" She eagerly reached her hand around the door, and when Joseph took her hand in his, she began to weep. They held on to each other's hands like a lifeline, unable to speak for the first few moments as they soaked up each others nearness. After years of waiting, the day had finally come for these two high school sweethearts to become husband and wife. They prayed together, asking God for the guidance and strength that they would need to build a life together.
The Moore family is so near and dear to my heart that it's hard for me to remember a time when they weren't a part of my life. I remember Joseph when he was an awkward middle school boy with a crush on his big sister's best friend. Now he's grown into a strong, handsome young man, and he and Amber are embarking on their journey to build a life and a family together. Joseph, I am so proud of the man that you have become, and Amber I am so thankful for the way that you love, support, and encourage him to become a more Godly man. I wish you lots of joy in your adventures together as husband and wife, and I can't wait to see where God leads you both!
This was Joseph's face when the doors opened and he saw Amber for the first time. PRICELESS!
