I love photographing elopements for so many reasons, and I always feel honored when a couple invites me to be part of such a private moment in their lives. The more time I spend working in the wedding industry, the more I grow to appreciate these quiet ceremonies that truly focus on the couple and their families. Although they attempted to plan a traditional wedding when they got engaged in September, in their hearts Courtney and Bobby knew that they wanted to exchange their vows in a more intimate setting, so they chose to have their ceremony in her parent's backyard. And it was perfect. :)
Courtney and her family began collecting broaches for her bouquet when she and Bobby got engaged, so they had plenty of time to find and include meaningful pieces in the arrangement. Some of these broaches belonged to Courtney's great grandmother.
Courtney and Bobby planned their backyard ceremony in about a week, but Courtney didn't let that stop her from creating beautiful, hand crafted pieces for her family to wear.
Courtney's dress was fabulous! Her style was reminiscent of Old Hollywood.
I love that Murphy (the golden retriever) and Minnie (the dachshund) were able to attend the ceremony as well.
I love this shot :)
Bobby and Courtney, I speak from my heart when I say how excited and honored I was to be invited to document your wedding day. You and your families are warm, friendly, and inviting, and I know that with that kind of love and support the two of you will have a long and beautiful journey ahead.
