When I asked Tina what kind of feeling or inspiration she wanted from her engagement photos, she told me that she and Derrick would love to just spend a lazy day in the park, so that's exactly what we did. She grabbed a blanket, a cute little vase and the picnic basket that her mom received as a wedding present, and we set out for Piedmont Park. Spending the afternoon with these two was relaxing and fun. We wandered around chatting about life and swapping funny stories, and I felt like I was catching up with two old friends. These two just have a way of making you feel that way. They are high school sweethearts who have been together for 9 years, and I cannot wait to celebrate their wedding with them in July.
I love this image because Tina's joy is written all over her face. You can tell she's still so excited to be with Derrick even after having been together for so long already. That's the kind of love I want to share with my husband one day, and it was really encouraging to spend the afternoon with two people who so obviously cherish each other.
Another favorite. The light here is so perfect, and both Tina and Derrick look so content. I love it! :)
We had to trek through what felt like the wilderness to get this photo. I knew exactly where I wanted to go, but I didn't realize that they had fenced most of this area in and turned it into a dog park, so we had to take the scenic route to get here. I think it was well worth the trip.
Derrick's last name is "Voss," so they brought along a bottle of Voss water to include in some of the photos. I think it turned out really cute :)
