Normally I begin a wedding post by sharing the bride and groom's love story and telling you how wonderful they are, but this time I'm doing something a little bit different. Every choice that Austin and Juliana made on their wedding day was made from hearts that dearly love and seek to honor Jesus Christ, and I know that the best way to honor their love for each other is to share about the One that brought them together. So instead of sharing about their love, I'm going to include excerpts from God's Word that describe Him and His perfect love.
"Christ is the visible image of the invisible God. He existed before anything was created and is supreme over all creation, for through him God created everything in the heavenly realms and on earth. He made the things we can see and the things we can’t see— such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities in the unseen world. Everything was created through him and for him." Colossians 1:15-16
"We know what real love is because Jesus gave up his life for us." 1 John 3:16
"God showed how much he loved us by sending his one and only Son into the world so that we might have eternal life through him. This is real love—not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins." - 1 John 4:9-10
"But God is so rich in mercy, and he loved us so much, that even though we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God’s grace that you have been saved!)" Ephesians 2:4-5
"Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance." 1 Corinthians 13:4-6
"Three things will last forever—faith, hope, and love—and the greatest of these is love." 1 Corinthians 13:13 "And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 8:38-39
