Christ the King & Georgian Terrace Wedding

If you love an elegant, romantic celebration, you’re going to fall in love with Hunter and Brittney’s Christ the King wedding ceremony and Georgian Terrace reception. But before I dive into the details, I want to say what a pleasure it was to work with these two wonderful people. Hunter and Brittney represent what I love so much about living and working in the South. They are kind and compassionate, vibrant, full of joy, warm and welcoming, and I had the best time spending the day with them, their families, and their closest friends.

Getting Ready photos at the Georgian Terrace

When talking to Brittney before her first look, I asked, “Do you think Hunter will cry when he sees you?” She smiled and said, “I don’t know, but my daddy sure will.” Her dad did not disappoint. When he turned and saw Brittney in her dress for the first time, he wrapped her in his arms and said, “I love you, and I’m so glad that I waited.” Cue the happy tears!

Honestly, though, it’s no surprise. Brittney looked absolutely radiant in her intricate wedding gown from Bridals by Lori. I think Chandler, one of Brittney’s bridesmaids, put it best when she said, “I’ve never seen anything more ‘Brittney’ in my life. It’s so her!” Classy and elegant with sparkle and sass? Yep, that sounds like Brittney to me, too. All of the women in the bridal party looked fabulous, as well, with a little help from the team from Atlanta hair and makeup artists Formal Faces.

Bridal Party Photos at the Georgian Terrace

When people see a large bridal party, it’s easy to wonder at how two people can cultivate meaningful friendships with so many people. After spending the weekend with them, I can see that Hunter and Brittney are the kind of people who bring light and love to the lives of everyone they meet. Every member of their bridal party was so excited to celebrate Hunter and Brittney and the family that they are building.

Bride and Groom First Look at the Georgian Terrace

Sometimes brides hesitate to do a first look before the wedding, because they want their walk down the aisle to be an emotional experience. When Hunter and Brittney shared their first look outside the Georgian Terrace, his face radiated with love and his eyes shined with tears, but that didn’t keep him from crying as Brittney walked down the aisle (and he wasn’t the only one!) A wedding day is an emotional day for everyone involved, and every person is going to express their emotions differently. Some will laugh, some will cry, some will do a combination of both. The key is to make choices on your wedding day that are meaningful for you.

Christ the King wedding ceremony

I absolutely love photographing weddings at Christ the King. The church, which was built in the 1930’s, has a French gothic architectural style, and I love everything about the limestone columns, dark wood pews, and stained glass windows. It’s the perfect setting for a classic, elegant wedding mass.

Wedding Reception at the Georgian Terrace

Hunter and Brittney ended their night with a stunning and lively wedding reception at the Georgian Terrace hotel. Tulip Blooming Creations did a spectacular job crafting floral arrangements that complimented the historic ballroom, and One2 Entertainment kept the crowd dancing well into the night. If I had to pick a favorite photograph from this set, it would be the photo of Hunter dancing with his mom. Any man who loves his mom this much is going to be a wonderful and loving husband!

Bride and Groom Portraits at the Fox Theater

Our original hope was to create a collection of late night portraits with the Fox Theater’s dazzling lights in the background, but it turns out they turn them off late at night! That didn’t keep us from creating a few portraits in the streets of Atlanta anyway. I love these two images so much. They were the perfect end to an equally perfect wedding day.

Hunter and Brittney: Thank you from the bottom of my heart for inviting me to photograph your wedding day. You are a wonderful couple, full of joy and love for your friends and family, and I wish you lots of love and happiness in your married life!
