Sneak Peek

I had an amazing engagement session this evening with one of my college roommates from freshman year and her fiance. With Thanksgiving and finals just around the corner, I probably won’t be able to blog this whole session for a while, so I wanted to go ahead and share this image with you. To me it really communicates the simple, sweet and sincere love that these two share. Enjoy:)

Kevin & Christine { Atlanta, GA }

Georgia Institute of Technology : Atlanta, GA

I don’t even know where to start. I absolutely love these two! Christine is one of my sorority sisters, and I met her on Day 2 of recruitment my freshman year. She was so full of joy and excitement that we connected immediately, and she was one of the people who greatly influenced my decision to become an Alpha Gam. I was beyond excited when she called to tell me that she and Kevin were engaged, and I went to her apartment to meet with them two days later. I couldn’t help but laugh, because I was asking them questions about what they were looking for and what they wanted their wedding to be like, and all Kevin said was, “All we really know is that it would be great for you to be our photographer!” How awesome is that?

I could go on forever about how amazing these two are, but then you’d never get to see their pictures!:)We decided to do their engagement session on the Georgia Tech campus because Kevin and Christine have so many memories here. We explored some of their favorite places, then went to eat at one of my favorite places- Doc Greens! Yum!

The next shot is definitely my favorite. I love the colors and the line of the bridge going over them, but what I love the most is how relaxed they look. It’s one of those moments when they’re just content to be near each other.

Next we headed to the top level of the student center parking deck so that we could utilize the last tiny bit of natural light left as the sun fell over the horizon. We also ended up with a great view of the Atlanta skyline, which was also really cool.

Kevin wanted to grab some shots by the campanile, and by this point we had almost no light to work with. That’s when I grabbed my trusty flash and pocket wizards and began to play! It’s so much fun for me when I run into an unexpected challenge and get to stretch my skills a bit. I love the way these photos turned out!

Bill & Jena { Chattanooga, TN }

Hunter Museum of American Art : Chattanooga, TN

I have been looking forward to this wedding since I met Bill and Jena in February! I got connected with them in the most round about way, and when we met we discovered not only that we were both Tech grads, but we are also both Greek (read: sorority girls:)) I connected with them immediately, and I have been excited about their wedding ever since. Not only are they REALLY fun, but they’re also amazingly attractive. I submit to you Exhibit A: Jena and her amazing hotness!

Exhibit B: Bill (aka The Handsome Groom). I love how relaxed and content his expression is as he waits for Jena to walk down the aisle.

I LOVE this image for two reasons. 1: The light couldn’t be more perfect. 2: Jena and her mom both look so excited and full of joy!

With the ceremony over, we headed outside to grab a few shots of the bridal party before wandering around with the bride and groom.

The Hunter Museum is such a beautiful location to shoot at. It’s located in the art district right on the river in Chattanooga, and the outside of the building is metallic, so it reflects the colors of the light around it. I didn’t do anything to enhance the color in this image: this is just how the building looked at sunset. Isn’t that cool?

In addition to being involved in Greek life in college, Bill is also actually Greek! Here his aunt is showing everyone how to do a traditional Greek wedding dance, followed by (of course) the chair dance! I love Jena’s expressions in both of these.

Bill and Jena, you two are amazing in far too many ways to count. Thanks for inviting me to be part of your celebration!
