When I stepped into the AGD house for the first time, I remember feeling an immediate connection to the sisters there, and I knew that I belonged. My sisters are vibrant, beautiful, accomplished, fun and wonderful women, and I will readily tell anyone that I would not be where I am today without their encouragement and support. They have been my biggest supporters, cheerleaders and my most enthusiastic clients from day one of my photography journey, and I will forever be thankful for the guidance, encouragement and friendship that I receive and share with my sisters.

Karen is an Alpha Gam alumna, so when she first contacted me about photographing her wedding, I could not have been more excited. She and her fiance JT are such a sweet couple, and they are really fun to photograph because Karen never stops laughing (just like me)! I am so excited to photograph their wedding in August!

Thank you, wind, for being so awesome. I love the look of a windswept wedding gown!

This image just sings love to me! It’s all joy and romance and good things.

Zach already told me they want to make this into a huge print to hang in their home! That’s what I like to hear!

After giving everyone time to clean up after the Jeep rides, the party got started at Agave at the Inn of Sedona.

Zach and Tessa, I don’t even know where to start. Really. Being a part of your wedding was like being part of a dream. Thank you so much for inviting me to celebrate with you and document your love. I hope that you cherish these moments, memories and photographs for as long as you cherish your love. You guys really are amazing.

I had to begin with this photo because it’s one of my favorites Meredith and Patrick were good friends of mine during my early years at Georgia Tech, and I feel so blessed to have been a part of their wedding. The photo above was taken at Juniors, which is where they shared their first date. How sweet!

I am a big fan of classic style, so of course I loved Meredith’s dress. It was simple and elegant, and it suited her perfectly. I also love this photo I grabbed of the bridesmaids peeking in on Meredith’s progress. You can tell they’re all overflowing with joy.

Is this not one of the cutest things you’ve ever seen? Meredith’s grandmother is an expert at tying bows, but she can only do it from the front so she had to wrap her arms around Meredith’s waist. What a precious moment!

Meredith’s eyes looked stunning in every picture. They’re beautiful! And I love the way the wind is pulling at her dress in the second image.

Meet Patrick, Meredith’s lucky groom. He is such a gentleman and a sweetheart, and I could not be happier for the two of them.

It’s time to show off another favorite! While Meredith and Patrick prayed together during communion, Patrick placed a gentle hand around his bride’s waist. These sweet little flower girls decided they wanted to snuggle close, too, and the resulting image makes me smile every time I look at it.

The bride and groom rode to the reception together in a classic Rolls Royce.

When we arrived at Georgia Tech, I had a few moments alone with the bride and groom so that we could create some relaxed, romantic photos of them together. They interact so sweetly and naturally together. They were truly a joy to photograph.

The happy couple was going to leave through a path filled with bubbles, but the bubbles were left at the church so that family improvised and pulled some rose petals off of a few flower arrangements. I think the resulting image shows that their efforts were well worth it!

Congratulations, guys! I wish you two a lifetime of joy filled moments together. Thank you for inviting me to document your wonderful wedding.

Confession time: These might be some of my favorite engagement photos. No, really. I know I’m not supposed to have favorites, but I can’t help it. I love these Rebecca is one of my sorority sisters. I lived with her for a year when I was in college, and she was Christine’s maid of honor. She is one of the sweetest, most joyful people I’ve ever met, and she and Trey are so cute together. Every smile shared between them is genuine. Every kiss is a foot-popping kiss. They love to laugh and dance together. Long story short: they were a dream to photograph. I hope you enjoy their photos as much as I do!

Favorite!

Rebecca brought along her white dress specifically so that she could wear these bright red shoes. She’s a girl after my own heart! She told me all about her super cute wedding shoes, and I can’t wait to see them in September.

More favorites This house was absolutely beautiful. It looked empty, so we took the opportunity to shoot on the front porch.

When I first talked to Rebecca and Trey about where they wanted to do their engagement session, they mentioned that they were outdoorsy people, so I knew immediately that Serenbe would be the perfect location. Don’t you think so?

I don’t get to see sunsets this color very often, so I’m always really excited when I get to see one in Georgia.

Rebecca and Trey, you guys ROCK! I can’t wait to celebrate your wedding with you in September!

Christine chose a beautiful color palette for her wedding. I love the way her hot pink bouquets contrast with the bridemaids’ navy blue j. crew dresses.

I love the way this shot is framed. For Christians, marriage is an act of worship, and that idea was definitely included as part of Kevin & Christine’s wedding ceremony. They are excited to honor God as they share their lives together!

Right after the ceremony, we snapped a few family and bridal party photos, then headed off to the park where the reception was being held to grab a few romantic shots of Kevin and Christine alone.

Of course we had to throw some goofy, fun pictures in there as well!

This was Christine’s only request. She really wanted to play on the swings She’s a girl after my own heart!

Again: I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the colors that she chose. They are such a beautiful compliment to each other! Also, a note about the reception decor: Christine and her family and friends put all of it together themselves. Christine is super crafty, so her wedding was full of personal touches. Her mother did all of the arrangements on the table, and Christine tied the hundreds of bows that went on the favors. It all came together beautifully.

They’re total goobers, and I LOVE THEM!

Brian had everyone cracking up during his toast. His speech was full of cute anecdotes, quips and even a song performed by Kim and Emily. It was pretty fantastic.

If you have followed my blog for any period of time, you know I am crazy in love with dancing shots. These are just a few of my many favorites that I grabbed of everyone on the dance floor. Can you tell they were having a great time? Yeah, duh!

Kevin and Christine, you make me smile. I love you guys, and I wish you many, many happy years and exciting adventures in your marriage!

Confession: Georgia Tech students spend WAY too much of our lives in the library. I think it’s part of our educational survival instinct. When I asked Carolyn if there was anywhere on campus that had special value for her and Matt, she jokingly responded the library, because they had spent so much time together there. I guess this should be a lesson to the rest of my clients: Joke not, lest you be asked to make out among rows and rows of dusty old books!

Corrie and Ryan are such an amazing couple, and their love for each other is revealed in every goofy look, belly-laugh and gentle kiss that they share. They are both GT graduates (Go Jackets!), and Corrie was one of my sorority sisters when I first came to Tech. Even though we didn’t get to spend a whole lot of time together in her time as a student, she is such a joyful, genuine person that you feel like she’s a good friend, even if you’ve only known her for a little while. I had so much fun walking around campus, sneaking into the football stadium and splashing through the fountains with them, and I can’t wait to photograph their wedding in August!

We began our little adventure with some pictures on the 5th Street bridge.

I love the face Corrie is making in the photo on the right. She’s so cute!

Corrie kept telling Ryan to show his real smile instead of his I’m having my picture taken smile. Apparently all he has to do to flash a real smile is look at Corrie.

One thing that I always ask my couples to do is tell me something fun, different or interesting about their relationship. This helps me brainstorm ideas about what kind of props or locations we can include in their session. When Corrie told me Ryan proposed at Cinderella’s Castle and they gave her a magic wand, I knew we had to use it for a picture or two.

One their first date, they paid a visit to the fountains at Centennial Park, so we had to stop by and take a few pictures playing in the fountains!

Yesterday afternoon, Emma and I cruised up to Atlanta to photograph Tj and Libby’s New Year’s Day wedding. I can’t think of a more perfect way to start the new year! These two are fun, stylish and personable, and I had a great time celebrating their love along with their family and friends.

The color palette at this wedding was really cool! Tj is seriously stylish, so I knew that their details would be fun and distinct. I love the fact that Tj decided to trade in his tie for a scarf. He looked like a total rockstar!

This wouldn’t be one of my wedding posts if I didn’t include show pictures! Aren’t the black and purple Converses awesome?

Tj & Libby’s non-traditional style inspired me to use some different processing techniques on a few of their images. It’s definitely a departure from my normal style, but it fits theirs perfectly! Tj used to be a DJ, so he and Libby decided to have their guests sign discs instead of a guest book.

Check out this lovely lady! Lovely AND brave. It was pretty cold outside, but we couldn’t resist exploring some of the areas outside the church for her bridal portraits.

When I first met with these two, Tj mentioned that his favorite thing about my work is that I make my brides and grooms look like rockstars. What can I say? I have amazing clients, so making them look amazing isn’t too difficult – especially when they have this much attitude!

What kind of friends do rockstar couples have? Why, ROCKSTAR friends, of course! These are some of my favorite bridal party photos ever!

Ceremony time!

The Abbey at St. Paul’s is a really beautiful location. The ceremony and reception both took place in the open area in front of the altar.

The after party (aka reception) was really rockin’, but it began with a few sweet, intimate dances between the bride and groom, the groom and his mom and the bride and her mom.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE the next few images. They are so full of emotion.

Later in the evening, Tj and one of his friends performed for the wedding guests. They did a choreographed fight/dance that was really cool!

Tj and Libby, I can’t thank you enough for inviting me to be part of your wedding. It was an amazing experience. I wish you lots of joy and adventure in your new life together, and I hope you have a blast in Gatlinburg!
