Married! Dave & Amna : Le Bam Art Space Wedding

If I’ve learned anything over the last few years shooting weddings, it’s that you really have to be ready for anything and everything to go wrong on a wedding day. I’m not sure why, but chaos tends to reign on wedding days, regardless of the amount of preparation that goes into it, and you have to be calm, flexible and creative when you encounter challenges and setbacks. The challenge on Amna’s wedding day came in the form of a massive thunder storm threatening to ruin her outdoor ceremony. The start time for her ceremony came and went, and the rain didn’t show any signs of lightening up. Then, as if by magic, the clouds dried up and Amna descended a puddle-filled aisle to begin her life together with Dave.

What made this day special for me was the fact that regardless of what went wrong, Amna remained cheerful and calm, and it reminded me of the importance of connecting and working with the right clients. She had every reason to be upset, and yet she continued to smile and laugh with her bridesmaids as if she didn’t have a care in the world. This is why I love my job so much. I get to work with beautiful, classy, expressive, affectionate, fun couples every week, and I could not be more thankful that they invite me to celebrate and document such a special time in their lives.

I wanted to take these shoes home with me. They’re fabulous!

Who doesn’t love a little Coco Mademoiselle?

I had fun with their rings!:)

Amna, honey, you are GORGEOUS!

These next two photos really sum up the way that I want my brides to feel on their wedding day: confident, classy, and fabulous!

I love that Dave chose a gray suit rather than a traditional black tux. And check out those shoes! He was stylin’:)

Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Winiarczyk!

The rain was returning fast, so we had to fly through the after-ceremony photos. Luckily for me, Amna and Dave are a seriously attractive couple and making them look good didn’t take much time! Haha.

Ohmigoodness, those SHOES. Yes please.

And this is SO the feel I want for my future ceremony… the drama in that purple fabric is just divine. Loving it. She might have my favorite look of all the brides you’ve shot, too. And you’ve shot some really fabulous ladies!

Great job on the pictures, they turned out perfect. You were able to capture how great they looked together, and how beautiful Amna was in that dress. It was a wonderful night and you captured it. Thank you!

Engaged! Drew & Justine : Georgia Tech

As I’ve mentioned before, I love that my job allows me to reconnect with old friends at such a treasured time in their lives. Justine was one of my college roommates at Alpha Gam, and I had so much fun catching up with her and getting to know Drew, her soon-to-be husband. They’re so quirky and goofy – they’re absolutely perfect for each other! We started our session at Georgia Tech, and we ended up traveling over to the High Museum to grab a few shots as well.

Engaged! Matt & Patti : Atlantic Station

I love wedding season, mostly because I love being able to connect with my clients and reconnect with old friends. Patti is one of my dear friends from college who I haven’t seen in years. She and Matt are getting married at the end of the summer, and I am so excited to be there to document every smile, every giggle and every radiantly happy moment.
