Married! Steve & Teresa : Decatur, GA

I have been looking forward to this wedding for SUCH a long time, and I’m so excited to share this wonderful day with you. I promise you will be as in love with the styling, decor and sweet moments as I was. Steve and Teresa decided to have a beautiful, classy, intimate wedding in Decatur, and it was a joy to be a part of. Teresa’s non-traditional, vintage-inspired style was so lovely, and it was fun to have the opportunity to document something a little different than usual.

Once Teresa settled on a bird theme for her wedding, she scoured Etsy until she found just the right details to go with it. Her father’s nest boutonniere was one of her many Etsy finds.

Warning: I was in detail heaven at this wedding, so I have a LOT of detail shots to share. I just love Steve’s boutonniere, which features a sprig of green wheat and lily of the valley.

I love this photo of Teresa getting ready on the left. She just looks so happy!

The Solarium was the perfect venue for Steve & Teresa’s intimate outdoor ceremony. Again, I’m in love with the decor and florals that 2000 AD Inc put together. They did a wonderful job of bringing Teresa’s wedding day vision to life.

Steve and Teresa included so many personal touches in their wedding ceremony. They both had their families walk them down the aisle, which was incredibly special for them. Before exchanging rings, they gave all of their guests the opportunity to place their blessings on them. Steve’s nephew passed the rings, nestled in a little nest, throughout the crowd, and then passed them on to the bride and groom.

I loved seeing how tenderly Teresa and Steve interacted with each other. Each touch they shared was a treasured moment for them, and you can read it all over their faces. I love this shot of Teresa as she uses her handkerchief to wipe away Steve’s tears.

Steve and Teresa have built their life together in Decatur, so we spent lots of time wandering around some of their favorite places in the city for their portraits together. This spot is where they shared their first kiss.

They really wanted to grab a few shots in front of this mural, and I think they turned out really fun!

Then we headed around the corner from their home to grab a few photos in their favorite park. These next few portraits are my favorites.

You know I can’t make it through a wedding without a few snuggling photos!

Get ready for this week’s visual feast, brought to you by the fabulous 2000 AD Inc! The reception decor was the perfect mix of earthy and elegant. Al used a mix of bird nests, honeycomb, bird houses, wheat, twigs and an abundance of green and white blooms to take the Solarium from simple to simply stunning!

The team from Glorious Events catered the event, and everything was really delicious. Steve and Teresa had an extensive spread of classic Southern foods, including barbecue, shrimp and grits and a station that served fresh, hot fried green tomatoes. YUM! They also mixed and served the couple’s signature drink, the McWheat Mojito!

Doesn’t Steve look so incredibly happy as he leads Teresa around the dance floor?

Steve and Teresa, I had a blast hanging out with you guys. Your love is so sweet, simple and inspiring, and I feel so blessed that you trusted me to capture your memories.

Although every wedding is an opportunity to partake in the richness of life, on occasion, an allignment of personalities encourages a level of inspired artistry that creatively defines this day, as a day like no other.
Our collaboration with Teresa & Steve was a remarkable partnership that quickly manifested a concept in support of their vision. The concept evolved into a wonderful testament to their love of life and personal style.
Lauren, your photography absolutely captured the soul of this event with sensitivity and insight. Your spontaneous eye beautifully described the couple as romantic, witty and playful. Congratulations on a beautiful wedding chronicle!
