Welcome back to the Pit

This week is my busiest one so far this year! We kicked off Greek Week 2009 yesterday with the ever infamous tug competition (remember these pictures from last year?) and I’ll be photographing events from now until next Tuesday. I also have a wedding and an engagement shoot to do this weekend, so look out for those images coming soon as well. Woohoo! I can’t wait. Here are a few of my favorites from this year’s competition.

And last but most CERTAINLY not least, here’s a picture of my AGD sisters rockin’ their tug thug faces!

And as an added bonus, here’s a short film clip of one of the winning pulls yesterday, courtesy of my new Webbie HD. I wanted to give you a better idea of what it’s like to be in the pit. It is seriously intense! Keep in mind, this is only the last few seconds of a round that went on for about 8 minutes or so. I can’t imagine how hard that has to be – and in the MUD, too! Luckily I remembered to wear my XL blue super poncho, otherwise my whole body would have been covered in that nasty, orange sludge.

WARNING! Make sure your volume is turned WAY down before you view this clip. If not, you might go deaf. Just sayin’.

Engaged! Angela & Reggie : Chattanooga, TN

Chattanooga Wedding Photographer Coolidge Park Engagement Photos

Oh, how I love my job! Last Saturday I drove up to Chattanooga, TN to photograph Angela and Reggie’s engagement session. While I was there I was able to catch up with an old friend, make a few new ones and eat some delicious Italian food, not to mention hang out with one of my seriously amazing couples. Angela and Reggie are such a fun, friendly pair, and it didn’t take long for them to relax into the session and work it out for my camera. After wandering around downtown a little bit Saturday night, I thought that Coolidge Park would be a fun spot for their session, and when they arrived they told me this is where Reggie had proposed! How perfect is that?

Angela mentioned in her get to know you questionnaire that she and Reggie loved bright colors, so I was excited when we stumbled across this spot on the river bank. Don’t the colors and the sunlight just make you feel all warm and smiley inside?

These two are so incredibly cute together. They could hardly look at each other without bursting into fits of giggles.

After shooting around Coolidge Park, we headed back over the bridge to the Bluff View Art District. This area is called “Little Italy.” It has such a warm, quaint feel to it, and it was the perfect backdrop for a few final photos as the sun disappeared.
