Celestyn & Brad : Atlanta, GA

I am so excited to finally be able to share these images with all of you! When my friend Matt called me a few weeks ago and told me he was in need of a second shooter for a few weddings, I couldn’t say yes quickly enough. I absolutely love second shooting. It gives me an opportunity to stretch my creativity and sharpen my skills as a documentary shooter. When I photograph weddings for my own clients, I am focused on maintaining a balance between creating fun, distinct portraits and capturing the unprompted, candid moments of their day. As a second shooter, I get to relax and wait for those moments that I love capturing to unfold. It’s a wonderful experience, and I make sure to do it as often as I can fit it into my schedule!

Celestyn and Brad had a simple, intimate celebration at the Flint Hill Plantation in Norcross. It was incredible to be able to photograph this couple whose love is written plainly in their smiles and gentle touches. I was encouraged by the way they vowed to love one another as an expression of their faith and overwhelmed by the strength and support that their families offered to them. My thanks go out to Matt for inviting me to shoot with him. He has some of his shots posted on his blog as well, so you should definitely head over there to check them out!

I loved the simple, understated style of her wedding details. It was classic and beautiful.

Isn’t Celestyn beautiful? I love the vibrant, natural colors in this portrait that I grabbed of her.

Isn’t Celestyn’s joy radiant in this image? This is an image from their first look before the ceremony. She was completely captivated by her handsome man!

After meeting Celestyn’s mother, I had no question where she got her radiant smile and gentle demeanor. I am pretty sure her mom’s joy could have rivaled her own! She looks so overwhelmingly happy in this image.

Not only do I love Celestyn’s expression in this image, but I also love that you can see her mom watching them over her shoulder. It’s exciting when all of the elements of a scene come together to produce a priceless moment, and I get even more excited when I’m able to capture it!

Chris & Kathy : Atlanta, GA

This session brought together two of my favorite things: a trip to the Georgia Aquarium and the chance to spend a few hours with two of my favorite people in the world! Kathy and I have always joked that one day in the distant future I’d photograph her wedding, and when she and Chris actually got engaged there was no question in her mind who she wanted. I couldn’t be more excited if I tried! These two are so much fun, and I had an incredible time wandering around the aquarium snapping shots of them snuggling, kissing and causing general havoc for mothers with small children:)I love you guys, and I can’t wait to photograph your wedding in a few years.

Are you kidding me? How hot does Kathy look here? I love the blue outline on the silhouette.

Mm. This one makes me want to snuggle. They’re so incredibly cute together!

This one makes me laugh. Chris’s eyes kept wandering, and Kathy suggested I bark to get his attention, like I did when I photographed Tj & Libby a few weeks ago. She was kidding, of course, but I did it anyway and we all had a good laugh.

I can’t believe how fierce Kathy looks in this image. It was getting cold out and I thought Kathy was going to shoot me when I suggested she lay on the grass, but I think it was totally worth it!:)

Yummy yummy late afternoon light. It’s so soft and warm. I love it.

When I saw these walls, Kathy knew exactly what I was thinking. She said, “Oh, bright colors! We all know Lauren can’t resist bright colors.” Yeah, duh! I LOOOOVE bright colors!

Kathy really wanted to get some shots by these bright pink flowers, so I told them to go snuggle. They look so sweet!

Sneak Peeks and Crazies : Atlanta, GA

Oh blog. How I have loved and missed you.:)Hey everyone! I apologize for the extreme lack of blog posts these last few weeks. Between photographing weddings, engagements, headshots and events, meeting with new clients, and fighting to keep my highest honors status for graduation, I have been swamped! The good part, though, is that I have a lot to share with you over the next few weeks, and there’s much more to come. I still have 6 weddings left to shoot this year. Woohoo! Strap in for the ride, because it’s going to be so much fun! And since I love you guys, here are a few sneak peeks I have to share.

And of course I couldn’t post this on my blog without throwing some humor at you. Ladies and gentlemen, I introduce to you, Matt Yung and Lauren Wright, AKA the CRAZIES!
