When I set off for Mexico on Wednesday morning, I was so excited because I was headed to shoot my first true destination wedding. All of my thoughts were swirling. I almost couldn’t believe that it was really happening. You see, photographing a destination wedding was on my list of goals for this year, but it wasn’t something that I actually expected to happen. It had been more of a far off dream than anything else. But there I was, boarding my flight and strapping in for the ride of a lifetime. I was going to shoot a wedding in Mexico. Cool!
Then, I arrived and got to spend time with Hilary, William and their families, and my focus completely shifted. This wedding was no longer special simply because it was in another country- it was special because this couple and their guests truly treated me like a friend. They made a place for me at the rehearsal dinner, and at their wedding reception I even had a name card and a place at a table next to close friends and family! I couldn’t believe how wonderfully warm and friendly everyone was, and it was amazing to be so welcomed.
I say this over and over again, because I don’t want them to ever forget it. I love my clients! By choosing me to document your special day, you enable me to live a life of passion doing what I love. Every time another bride tells me she’s ready to book me, I celebrate because I’ve been invited to be part of another life and another love story. It’s incredible! And whether your wedding is on a secluded beach in Mexico or in your hometown church, I am honored to document your love. Thank you William & Hilary for inviting me to photograph your wedding. It was an amazing experience, and I will never forget it!
