Fall Fashion Forecast: Pieces I LOVE

I just got back from spending the afternoon wandering around Lenox Square Mall, and I am so pumped about the styles and colors I’m seeing for fall. While my personal style generally keeps me from trend hopping, I must say I’m feeling inspired to peruse the racks of new arrivals for pieces that would definitely add a sprinkle of trendiness to my wardrobe.

It seems like every store I went into had their own version of the dress on the left. I’m not usually a fan of button down dresses- they have a very 90′s vibe to me- but when I walked into Karen Millen today and saw this cute little dress I had to keep myself from reaching for my credit card. It’s so chic! When the sales associate asked if I’d like to try it on, I told her that I don’t try on anything I can’t leave the store with, and my credit score and bank account are very thankful:)

I am pretty much obsessed with my business colors, so when I discovered the new colors in Coach’s Bleecker Collection it was like love at first sight. Not only do they have a collection of bags in my favorite shade of turquoise, but I chatted with a few of the sales associates and found out that Coach is introducing bright green bags to the Bleeker collection this fall. I might just have to treat myself to one of these, because they’re gorgeous!

Last but most certainly not least, the fashion world is welcoming the fall season with BRIGHT, BOLD COLORS! Who knew? I’m used to seeing warm earth tones for fall, but everywhere I wandered, I discovered these incredible colors that looked like they were pulled straight out of Crayola’s bold marker set. Check out this jacket from J. Crew. While I won’t be splurging on this particular jacket, I can’t wait to pair these fabulous colored pieces with all the neutrals in my closet to produce a look that’s both classy and fun!

Thanks for letting me indulge my inner fashionista and share my thoughts with all of you. Now I want to know what you love for fall. What styles have you seen that inspire or excite you? Leave a comment and let me know!

Product feature: Albums!

Atlanta wedding photographer

Fabulous, aren’t they? I’ve been working on designing a more comprehensive pricing and product guide for my clients, and I wanted to put together a collection of images that showcases the beauty of these wedding albums. I also wanted to talk a little bit about why I love these albums so much. While having the high resolution files from your wedding is great, I’ve found that most brides don’t really do a whole lot with them. They like the idea of not having to pay individually for the few prints that they do want, but beyond that the pictures usually end up sitting in a folder on someones computer and are rarely looked at once the “honeymoon feeling” goes away. I don’t want this to happen to your images! I want you to cherish your images and have them as a constant reminder of how much in love you are. I can’t think of a better way to enjoy them than to have them displayed in a timeless, elegantly designed wedding album.

I include the high resolution files in all of my wedding collections because I know that you want them! But to me, this is almost like writing a book and having it published as a pdf. While it’s certainly cool to be published, to me it’s that much more awesome when you have something to hold and flip through. If I published a book, I’d want it sitting in a prominent place in my home! Don’t you want the same for your love story? My album designs are simple and uncluttered, and they focus on the images and the moments captured rather than the latest design trend.

These albums are available in either a contemporary (flushmount, shown above) or fine art (matted) style. If you are interested in including one in your wedding collection, contact me and let me know! I’d love to design one for you.

Do a little dance { Out takes and cameos }

And now, what you’ve all really been waiting for… my friends and I looking like total goobers! Having both Lisette and Emma at Ian and Jenna’s wedding made for some really funny and awesome moments, and many of them ended up caught on camera!

First up, here’s my wonderful and talented assistant Emma. This girl is out of this world. She’s a dancer, actress, poet, photographer-in-training and seamstress. Here she is hemming one of the bridesmaids dresses.

I needed to test my light for family portraits, so Lisette stepped up on the stage… and made a really goofy face!

I am much better at demonstrating poses than describing them, so I often find myself in some crazy situations. Thanks, Lisette, for grabbing some of my favorite “in action” shots ever!

And now for the dancing. Be warned: I am not by any means a good dancer, as these photos clearly show, but I love to do it anyway!

I’ll leave you with one more. I love this because right before Emma took the picture, Ian took off his hat and sat it on my head. It’s definitely my favorite picture from the day. Just sayin’:)
