Blue jean baby, LA lady { Atlanta, GA }

My friends are fabulous. Especially this one! Blog readers, I give you my wonderful friend Kyleen, aka my adventure buddy. She loves the Lord with all of her heart, mind and soul, and her joy radiates in her laughter and smiles. Not only is she an inspiration to me, but she’s also GORGEOUS! Check out these rockin’ photos!

I’ve shot around the Georgia Tech campus a LOT, and while in the beginning I had planned on looking for a new location to shoot, in the end I decided to really push myself instead to find new ways and new areas to shoot on campus. These next few are a result of that challenge.

So, Kyleen and I have been friends for, oh, I don’t know, three years or so, and until last week I had NEVER seen this face! She looked up at my camera with this beautiful, serene look and I thought to myself, “Are you kidding me? Where did THAT come from?”

This is my personal favorite. It speaks volumes about her personality!

And then, of course, there’s the obligatory smiling Asian tourist photo! This was a special request from Kyleen for her friends from her Singapore trip.

Brandon & Kathryn { Carrollton, GA }

I love having the opportunity to shoot alongside other photographers. It’s even cooler when I get to shoot alongside a fellow Yellow Jacket! Tim and Jessie, two super fun photographers and Georgia Tech grads, had originally planned on just being part of Brandon and Kathryn’s bridal party. However, when their search for a photographer didn’t go so well, Tim stepped up and offered to photograph the wedding AS WELL AS be a groomsman. That’s a big job for one person! So he asked if I would come along and step in for him when he couldn’t shoot. I had so much fun getting to know Tim and his wife Jessie, as well as celebrating Brandon and Kathryn’s wedding with them.

The ceremony took place at Trinity Baptist Church and the reception was at Sunset Hills Country Club. Both of the locations were beautiful and full of large windows, which provided lots of natural light inside. The flower arrangements were really important to Kathryn, so they decided to splurge and go all out! All of the arrangements were elegant and colorful, a combination which I absolutely love.

I started out the day photographing the guys. These guys were such a fun group, and they were up for pretty much anything! I love when the bridal party just loosens up and lets me play. Not only do they get to enjoy the photographs more, but I get to be more creative!

After I finished up with the guys, Tim and I joined the girls for some getting ready photos. Kathryn was an absolutely radiant bride, and once she put on her dress, she couldn’t stop smiling! Her joy was so evident all throughout the afternoon.

Before the bridal party was introduced, we snuck Brandon and Kathryn outside to take advantage of the fabulous afternoon light. I love how the soft, warm light frames them in these two portraits.

A note to the photographers reading: This was my first wedding shooting with my brand new Canon 40D. I literally pulled it out of the box before walking out the door to this wedding. Learning to cruise through the menus was a little awkward at first, but overall I really enjoyed my experience with it! I needed something fast to shoot the ceremony & reception with, and this little camera really does the job! This is the beginning of a beautiful friendship.

I can’t believe she’s married! { Lawrenceville, GA }

Even though I participate in weddings almost every other weekend, witnessing the start of a new family is always such a surreal experience for me. It’s even more crazy when I have personal relationship with the bride. Saturday afternoon I got to be a bridesmaid for the second time in my life, because my good friend Elise got married! Even though I wasn’t the official photographer for the day, I still had to bring my camera along to capture the behind the scenes action.

Here is my crazy wonderful friend the bride sitting with her younger sister Anna as they waited for their hair appointment. These two are super fun, and they’re absolutely nuts when they’re together!

This is Elise’s “I’m SO excited I can hardly stand it!” face.

After getting totally lost trying to follow Ryan’s mom’s directions, we finally arrived at Belk, where Elise got her makeup done. I decided to play around with some antique toning on these images, because the whole wedding had such an elegant, classic feel to it.

What a fabulously beautiful bride!

Obviously since I was part of the bridal party, I couldn’t take pictures during the ceremony. So I handed off my camera to my friend Jessica so that she could snap a few for me. This was my favorite.

They’re so in love. These two are such an inspiration to me. Their desire from the first moment has been to honor and celebrate Jesus Christ in their relationship, and the love that they live out for each other is so wonderful to see. They bring joy to my heart and a smile to my face. I love you guys!

Finally, here are a few snaps with me in them. The first one is of Elise and I in the brides room before the ceremony, and the second is me with Peeper and Anna.
