Danielle & Chris { Atlanta, GA }

I love it when my clients trust me. I love it even more when my clients really invite me to be a part of their lives. Danielle and Chris are those clients. When we finally settled on doing their engagement session at the Country Club of the South, she invited me to her Memorial Day party early in the day to swim and chill with her family. I wasn’t able to go for the whole party, but I did arrive early and I wandered around with her meeting Chris’s side of the family. They were so warm and welcoming. I just know their wedding is going to be a fun celebration! OK, now it’s picture time!

Blog readers, meet McKenzie. McKenzie, blog readers. When I asked Danielle if there was anything special that she wanted to include in her shoot, she responded, “Our dog.” I got so excited, because I love dogs! This dog is quite possibly one of the cutest I’ve ever seen. There’s something about the combination of small, white, fluffy and spunky that just steals my heart away. I had such a good time including her in the shoot.

I LOVE this photo, because McKenzie is looking up at them like, “Aww, mommy and daddy are kissing!”

Emily & Shane { Birmingham, AL }

Weddings are so wonderful to me. There’s something about being a witness to the beginning of a brand new family that touches my heart, and even though they can be crazy and stressful, I love being able to be a part of them. At every wedding I shoot, I seem to walk away encouraged by something, like the way the bride and groom whisper to one another during the first dance or the way the couple’s parents hold each other close. It could be anything. At Emily and Shane’s wedding, it was hearing Shane read his vows to Emily. He promised not only to love and cherish her, but also to lead their family in their pursuit of the Lord. It was a beautiful moment, and I was excited to know that this new family would not only be guided by their love for each other but also by the Lord.

Their wedding took place at the beautiful and historic Rucker Place in Birmingham, Alabama. It was a really fun place to shoot, because there were so many different rooms and views to explore. There are a lot of windows, which provides an abundance of natural light inside (which I love!). Also, the balcony is a great place to shoot from during the ceremony. I stationed Emma up there while I shot from the ground. You’ll see more examples of that later. OK, no more talking. On to the images!

I interrupt your regularly scheduled programming for this important messge. Ha! Just kidding. I just wanted to point out that I recently changed my wedding packages so that a second photographer is included at every wedding. Here is a set of images that demonstrate why. These next two images are the ones that I captured from the ground.

These are the two that Emma grabbed from the balcony. Now, when I’m putting together an album for the couple, I have two different and complimentary perspectives to choose from.

I LOVE this picture. It honestly made me laugh out loud when I saw it.

This family was serious about their dancing, especially the groom! These are some of my favorite reception photos, because they really capture the fun that these guys were having as they moved around the dance floor.

Shane and Emily, it was a blessing to celebrate your lives and love with you. It really was a pleasure, and I wish you the best in your new family!

Jena & Bill { Atlanta, GA }

Kiss. Smile. Kiss. Smile. That’s how this entire session went! Jena can hardly look at Bill without smiling. Throw in some kisses, and her face just beams with happiness. These two met while studying at Georgia Tech (Go Jackets!) and will be getting married at the Hunter Museum of American Art in August. Jena and Bill, I had so much fun hanging out with you, and I can’t wait to celebrate your wedding with you!
