Michael & Heather { Norcross, GA }

When I rolled over Sunday morning, my first instinct was to toss my alarm against the wall. I’ve been working hard keeping my business in order, tending to my clients, writing final papers and preparing for exams, and I was pretty much exhausted. Thankfully, I was only second shooting Sunday afternoon, so I drew encouragement from the fact that the afternoon would be relaxed and stress-free, and I got out of bed. I am so glad that I did!

Heather & Michael’s wedding was so inspirational. They had the most Christ-centered wedding ceremony that I have ever been to. Absolutely everything they did was focused on magnifying the greatness of God and asking Him to guide them in their life together. It was amazing! There were lots of tears and laughter, and I had a wonderful time capturing their love. It was so apparent that they were committed to following the Lord together, and I loved being able to be a part of their special day.

Thanks to Kristen Leigh for inviting me to shoot with her! I had a great time!

Matt & Lisa { Atlanta, GA }

By now it’s no secret how much I loved photographing this wedding. Lisa and Matt are such a wonderful couple, and I had such a great time with them. When I received Lisa’s first phone call, I knew that this would turn out to be an amazing wedding for me, because not only were these two really fun, but they also trusted me. It’s amazing how much your clients’ trust can do for your creativity!

Lisa was a little nervous when I arrived because the forecast called for rain, and she and Matt really wanted to wander around Piedmont Park and grab some images outside. The rain held off for most of the afternoon, but during the ceremony it began to pour. Once the ceremony was over and we finished their family portraits, we grabbed a few umbrellas and ventured out into the rain. After taking a few shots with the umbrella, Lisa and Matt looked at each other then looked at me and said that they’d be willing to throw the umbrella aside if they could get some really awesome pictures out of it. I love the way they turned out!

Matt and Lisa, thank you. Thank you for inviting me to celebrate with your families, for trusting me with capturing your memories, and for encouraging me in my journey. You are amazing, and I look forward to seeing where your adventures take you!

An encouraging evening { Atlanta, GA }

I had such an amazing time tonight. I had the pleasure of celebrating Matt & Lisa’s wedding with them and their families, and it reminded me why I love weddings so much. Even though I hadn’t officially met these two until last Tuesday (yes, four days ago), by the time I left I felt like an old friend. I love laughing and dancing and celebrating my cleints’ love along with them, and I believe this is one of the reasons my clients choose to have me as their photographer. I truly enjoy being able to capture their memories for them, and I know it shows when I work. My excitement covers me from my head to my toes. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again- The Lord has given me a true gift by introducing me to such wonderful people, and I am so thankful for it!

As I was sorting through Matt and Lisa’s wedding images tonight, this shot really captured my attention. Even though it was raining outside, they decided to throw their umbrella aside so that I could grab some really fun portraits of the two of them together. This was by far my favorite.

I’ll have more images from Matt and Lisa’s wedding up later this week, so stay tuned! Right now, though, I have to go to bed, because I have another wedding to photograph tomorrow! Have a wonderful evening (or morning by now I guess)!
